Process flow / value stream mapping is a foundational element of the lean methodology to identify and reduce / remove waste. The process flow / value stream mapping insert allows you to create a detailed visualization of all important work steps. Each step can then be evaluated if it is adding or not adding value from the customer standpoint (can be internal or external). Removal of non-value added tasks results in improved productivity. The insert can be used for a simple process flow to a complex value stream map (allows for the advanced use of diagram tools and waste calculation).

A3 is a simple one-page communication and problem solving tool - forces users to populate key information in an accurate and concise manner.
